Frequently Asked Questions
What are the prerequisites for the training program?
You must be a licensed veterinarian in good standing with some experience in equine practice. While prior experience with reproductive ultrasound is beneficial, it's not required as we teach the technique from the ground up.
How many veterinarians are trained in each session?
We limit each training session to a maximum of 6 veterinarians to ensure personalized instruction and ample hands-on practice time. This small group setting allows Dr. Doyle to work closely with each participant.
What equipment will I need to purchase for my practice?
While we train on high-end equipment, the technique can be performed on most modern ultrasound machines with appropriate transducers. During training, we'll discuss the minimum specifications required and provide recommendations based on your budget and practice needs.
How long does it take to become proficient in the technique?
Most veterinarians achieve high accuracy by the end of the training week. However, like any skill, proficiency improves with practice. We recommend submitting your first 20-30 cases for verification to build confidence and ensure accuracy.
What happens if I don't meet the associate status requirements?
If you don't meet the associate status criteria during the training week, we offer additional coaching and a reassessment opportunity. In rare cases where more practice is needed, we can arrange for additional training at a reduced rate.
